Adding Character & Personality Into Your Home

Initial steps for growing into your personal style and adding charm into your home. While broad, these tips allow for you to dive into your own personality and show your personality throughout your home.

Hang photos, and hang them well!

Art is perhaps the best way to express yourself in a home. Still haven’t found many pieces that speaks to you? That’s okay! Art curation should take its time.

Photographs are a sure-fire way to bring in your personality. Add in ones of friends and family, or download some of places you admire.

The placement of hanging photos can have a huge impact on the charm in your space. We love this corner-style gallery as seen above. We recomend always placing photos around eye-level, but get creative on sizes and corners of your space to utilize this!

Bring in your statement color.

Whether it’s a small wall, the inner area of a bookshelf, or your powder room, bring in your color! This shows your style in a simple + classy way.

One statement piece is all you need.

If you’re unsure about how to pull a room together, I like to start simple and think about what the one stand-out item is in that space. Perhaps it’s a rug like the photo above. Maybe you invest in your dream sofa or a killer coffee table. The rest of the room can take a breather and remain simple, neutral, and not overdone. When you feel more confident layering in additional statements, that can be a fun next phase, but for people starting out, and feeling overwhelmed, this is how begin to think about it!

You pick your color. These are a no-brainer to add character to your home, no matter what style of architecture you’re working with.
